An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Performance Analyst specializing in Pricing and Concessions to join a dynamic commercial operations function, East Midlands head office (hybrid).. This role, on a 12-month fixed-term contract, is pivotal in maximizing revenue from the group’s concessionary schemes, totalling approximately £150 million per annum. The successful candidate will need to be a strategic thinker with experience operating in a commercial analysis role (or equivalent) previously. You’ll need excellent data skills and demonstrating the ability to extract & articulate commercial value from data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and analyze the performance of new business cases, proposed concessionary schemes, producing alternative pricing parameters.
  • Produce detailed workings and summaries to support pricing and concessionary negotiations.
  • Build forecasting models to enhance accuracy in reporting and targeting.
  • Drive the development and enhancement of existing commercial data models to optimize performance, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Actively participate in modelling pricing and concessionary scheme negotiations, working towards becoming the lead negotiator.
  • Deputize for the Head or Pricing & Concessions Analysis team when required.
  • Develop analytical tools, techniques and methodologies for calculating pricing and concessions, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and better understand customer trends, identifying and addressing irregularities.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in a commercial analytics functions, ideally covering pricing, concessions or customer-based analytics.
  • Excellent mathematical, modelling, and the ability to interrogate, trend and produce forecasts form data..
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, with various levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Logical and lateral thinker, adept at problem-solving considering business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Degree or equivalent in a Business-related subject (Economics, Finance, Accountancy, or Business Administration).
  • Strong IT skills, especially advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
